What I Like About You (aka camp)

My grandmother has owned a lot at Big Bear Lake Campground since before I was born. When my father and uncles were younger, they helped build that porch and everything. I've been going there for as long as I could remember. I've haven't been able to go as often these past few years and I missed it dearly. So when my uncle said he was going for Memorial Day weekend, I asked if I could tag along. When I got there I had realized all the things I missed most about camp and started a list of all the great things there. These are just a few that I twittered about while I was there.

#1 This cool circular light made from what looks like potsand plastic. And a piece of yarn for the switch.

#2 The hammock that is the perfect height from the ground. Easy to get in, but high enough to be comfy. (I am obviously not a man with a beard. That is my uncle and his dog.)

#3 The trees. There are enough to keep everything nice and cool, but still let the light through to brighten things up.

#4 Two little tiki men in front of the trailer. I don't know where they came from or why they're there, they just are. (Are those boobs? I've never noticed before but I'm pretty sure htey're boobs.)

#5 Mmm.... mountain pies. Delicious! (I wanted to take an actual picture of a mountain pie, not just the pie iron, but evertime I remembered to take it picture, it was already in my stomach.)

#6 Big fires. The kind where you have to sit six feet back because it burns to be any closer.

#7 Flower lights! They're strung up all the way around the trailer and the fire ring.

#8 The bunk beds in the back of the trailer. The two top ones can kill you if you roll off, but the one bottom one is a little comfy nook. (Yes, all three have Hunchback of Notre Dame sheets.)

#9 The bear claw marks on the porch. These are new but I like them. (My ugly foot is there so you can tell that the scratch marks are just as big as a human foot.)

#10 Our axe. It's duct taped onto the handle. Safe, probably not. A thrill to use, most definitely.

#11 The shed. You never know what you may find inside. My grandma is constantly buying things at the flea market so there's always stuff you thought you'd never need, but always wanted to have.

#12 This creepy little gnome that stares at the porch. He like his cap.

#13 The swing. It's awkwardly shaped because the seat is extra long and the back is really short, but it's still nice.

#14 Ice cream from the camp store. Except now there is a golf cart drive through and it's weird. But the ice cream is still yummy.

The golf cart drive through is funny. As is the gnome.

Lovely trees.
It makes me want to go camping, which is something I've never done before.
